In a rush to get out of the house one night I accidentally put one of my rings on my wedding finger. I was late for a friends birthday party at Q’s nightclub in Santa Barbara, Ca and I was in a big hurry.
From the moment I walked in the club every girl I talked to was asking if I was married. I was shocked. I didn’t think the rules were that strict for your left hand ring finger and I didn’t think the ring I was wearing looked like a wedding ring at all.
The next night we turned the experience into one of the simplest pua openers ever. I went to a club with the ring from my flaring page on my wedding ring finger and opened every set the same way. I would walk up to a group of girls, put my left hand in front of them and ask:
“Does this look like a wedding ring to you?”
It worked like a charm. This opener spawned conversations that went like this:
Girl: Yes, are you married?
Me: No, I ran out of the house tonight in a hurry and just threw this ring on without thinking about it. I just ran into an old friend and she totally assumed I was married. You’re a girl and you know more about this stuff than I do, are you only allowed to wear rings on this finger if your married?
Girl: Yes, haha. It totally looks like a wedding ring, you should change it to your other finger. (About half the time she would grab my hand and start looking at the ring at this point.)
Me: Come on, you really think this looks like a wedding ring? Ha ha.. Just look at it.
At this point I would take off the ring and hand it to her. While she inspected the ring I would get involved with her girlfriends conversation and usually throw in another pre-scripted opener. This way I could get two conversations going in the group and I was the center of both of them.
I like this opener because it cuts deep and quick. There is no long script you have to memorize, and rejection rates are low. It also prompts her to touch you when you hold your hand out in front of her. At times I have said “Come on, look at it closer” as a prompting for her to take my hand and have a closer look.
I haven’t been this excited about a pua opener in a while. I like it a lot because it doesn’t involve telling her about a big dramatic ordeal that you need her opinion on. It seems pretty cut and dry.
I used this last Saturday with three different girls. Such a good pua opener. I got into conversations with all three girls and heavily flirted with one of them. Got her phone number to.
Great opener, nothing complex. Simple, fun. Starts great conversation.
